Juneteenth Community Forum Tackles Tulsa Hot Topics
Local TV newswoman Jamie McGriff of KOTV will moderate an NABJ-Tulsa community forum on health, education, public transportation, economic development and future plans for Tulsa. The TV talk-show format discussion is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 18, at Langston University-Tulsa’s new campus at 914 N. Greenwood Ave.
McGriff joined The News On 6 in April 2010 as The News On 6 at Noon anchor and Six in the Morning reporter. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, McGriff’s career started at her college radio station WOCG. After graduating, Jamie worked in Dallas as a freelance reporter for WBAP. McGriff then moved into television and worked across the country at cities that included Tyler, TX, Las Vegas and at WHNT-TV in Huntsville. A member of the National Association of Black Journalists, she has also served as a Boys and Girl Club volunteer.
The public is invited to attend the free forum. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of panelists.
